CD-ROM/DVD drive not detected, error 39? - no device drivers were found vista -forums

I have a new laptop with Vista Home Premium, and only a week later, the CD-ROM disappears on the screen of my PC. Then check the Device Manager and found that driver error cdrom.sys signaling 39th I searched several forums and support pages from Microsoft and tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver and the device. Same message.

Now working with the System Restore to factory settings reset, but I installed a number of things already, and I would use only as a last resort. If someone other suggestions would be eternally grateful.

Flakey activity in a weeks old machine is never a good sign. Consider it back where you bought it.

Otherwise, you can have a damaged driver.
Go to the MFG website to download and install the recommended drivers.
In the recovery / disk drivers supplied with the laptop search for the driver.
Depending on the disc that came with your laptop may be able to re-install CD.

Good Luck
